This primary is heavily contentious but as the case is everywhere, the people of Nevada are focused on who is likely to be the best candidate and the most successful president.  Based on that analysis we believe that Senator Clinton is going to win in Nevada.

We Must Follow Romney’s Speech and Defend Freedom of Religion (Rep. Chris Cannon)

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Just as the pilgrims fled religious intolerance and as our Founders rejected religious litmus tests, decent American voters will reject hidden theological requirements.

Campaign Finance System Needs Overhaul After 2008 (Sen. Susan Collins)

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

I am proud to join my colleagues, Senator Russ Feingold, and Congressmen David Pryce and Christopher Shays, in introducing the Presidential Funding Act of 2007.

This bipartisan bill attempts to fix our broken presidential public financing system.  The front-loaded primary schedule, the ever-increasing cost of media time, and the willingness of wealthy candidates and donors to pump tens of millions of dollars into campaigns has overwhelmed a public financing system that was built for 1976, not 2008.

The current system of public financing for presidential elections does not provide sufficient funding to make it a realistic choice for most candidates trying to compete against those who are opting out of the system and raising such huge sums from private donors. Read the rest of this entry »
