November 21st, 2008
The Big Question is a feature where influential lawmakers and interest group leaders give their answers to a question that’s driving discussion in news circles around the country.

See responses from Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.), Hudson Institute President Dr. Herbert London, and Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) below.

Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) said: There is no American more capable or better able to serve our nation as Secretary of State than Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, and I enthusiastically applaud the news that she has accepted an invitation to serve from President-elect Barack Obama. Dr. Herbert London, president, Hudson Institute said: For a candidate who ran on the basis of change it is interesting that he is relying on the well-known and established figures within the Democratic Party for his cabinet. So much for change.Read the full response
Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said : While she is a political superstar, Hillary Clinton is — above all else — a professional. Just as she has worked well and fit into the Senate, she wouldn’t take the Secretary of State job unless she intended to be part of the Obama team.
