Rep. Allen Will Say No to Pro-Life Justices

At Planned Parenthood, we work every day to reflect and fulfill our patient’s needs. This is what we need from our elected officials.
Congressman Allen will stand up for Planned Parenthood — an organization that has consistently stood up for what is right and spoken out on behalf of women and families. He will continue to lead the fight to provide quality, affordable health care and health information for women, men, and teens. He will affirm dignity, privacy, and full and factual sexual health information.
Congressman Allen has said—and will continue to say –yes to each individual’s right, strength, and wisdom to make personal decisions about their health and future. And finally, he will say NO to Supreme Court justices that seek to move us back to a dark time in history for American women. That’s why Planned Parenthood supports Tom Allen to be the next Senator from Maine.
We need a leader who will represent the interests of the millions of Americans served by Planned Parenthood. We need someone in the Senate who understands prevention and who will support quality, affordable health care and health information for women, men, and teens. And now, with the makeup of the Supreme Court and the lower courts highly influenced by the retrograde policies of the Bush administration, we need a leader who acknowledges the significance of the judiciary at every level. Planned Parenthood wholeheartedly agrees that Tom Allen is that leader.
Tom Allen holds a 100% ranking from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund based on his voting record over the past 12 years in Congress. That record proves he will support and protect a woman’s right to make personal childbearing decisions; support comprehensive sexual health education to enable our young people to make responsible decisions about relationships and their health; and invest in proven prevention programs, including family planning services and breast and cervical cancer screenings. We are proud to be part of this important national process.
This election is absolutely pivotal for our organization and the people who count on us. During these challenging times we need to send someone to Washington who will stand up for women and families and say no to extremist, activist judges who choose to ignore our Constitution, and in doing so, ignore our basic rights. Tom Allen will do just that.
