Strengthen Social Security Sooner Rather Than Later

August 15th, 2008

Social Security has been a lifeline for several generations of Americans so we urge our elected officials to take action to strengthen Social Security sooner rather than later. The sooner we act, the more modest the steps necessary to ensure the long term financial security of not just today’s older Americans, but all generations of Americans.

With the current economic instability, mortgage troubles, the credit crunch, and high energy prices, Social Security is the one consistent source of income that older Americans can rely on.
