I am sure that history will record Sen. Helms favorably.  I think that Jesse Helms was a man of unquestionable character.  I don’t think he would compromise his position for any wrongdoing.  While I did not always agree with Senator Helms, you did not have to guess where he stood.  With Jesse, what you saw is what you got.
