This budget is an irresponsible budget. I’m not defending our record when we were here, but this makes the problem worse, and it’s not likely to get better—that’s the problem. These budgets are typically exceeded with supplemental spending and more.

Republicans have a budget that allows the tax cuts to continue, that starts to reign in entitlement spending, and, for a number of years, balances the budget.

The presidential election may have a huge effect on spending. I think it’s unfortunate that we haven’t had more bills vetoed in the past several years, but if you have a Democrat in the White House, and Democrats controlling both houses, then Katy bar the door!
