Barack Obama’s Nomination an Historic Achievement (Rep. David Scott)
June 4th, 2008
Barack Obama’s victory is a historic and glorious achievement for Obama, America and the world. For it truly represents a change of soaring magnitude of not just racial pride, but America’s pride. This is a great victory for both the meaning and the essence of America because Barack Obama is standing on the shoulders of Thomas Jefferson–“All men are created equal…”– and Martin Luther King, Jr.–“I have a dream that one day…”– and so many precious white and black people in between, who have sacrificed their lives so that America would have this extraordinary moment to truly be America.
