Still No Light At The End Of The Tunnel (Sen. Norm Coleman)

April 13th, 2008

General Petraeus, no question, has accomplished a great deal in Iraq. I think people on both sides have recognized that. The surge has been a great military success, even though a lot of people questioned it: i questioned it. On the political side, there have been advancements, there is no question about that, but more still needs to be done. In Congress we are working towards a clearer sense of what still needs to be accomplished in Iraq. There is still no light at the end of the tunnel, and I believe a frustration still exists among the American public as a result. There is also still question among members of Congress, but I think it was really hard to fight with General Petraues or Ambassador Crocker on the issue because through all of this, they have done a very good job.
