Obama Will Bring Hope & Change to U.S., Global Community (Rep. Albert Wynn)
February 8th, 2008
Barack Obama has gained tremendous momentum following the Super Tuesday’s primary elections, with sweeping victories in at least 13 states. Obama embodies the strength and character that Americans across the country are looking for in a candidate, and that is why he has my full support in this presidential election.
Words like “hopeâ€? and “changeâ€? have been commonly touted by both parties these days, but I believe only one party and one candidate can fulfill their promise. Obama is that candidate. He is a passionate leader with a clear vision for the future and the ability to see that vision through. Further, Obama is a uniter — he garners support from Democrats, Independents, undecided voters and in some cases, Republicans. Throughout his tenure in the Illinois State Legislature and more recently in the Senate, he has cultivated this skill and has shown that he knows how to get things done.
Over the next few days, candidates will travel across the country hoping to sway Americans in remaining primary elections for their support. I enthusiastically welcome Obama to Maryland and I welcome his leadership for the country. And most of all, I welcome the fulfillment of hope and change he will bring this nation and the larger global community.
