Clinton & Romney’s Veterans Day Web Ads

November 12th, 2007

Neither Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) nor former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) let Veterans Day pass without posting videos to their websites.

Clinton’s video features veterans and widows of different ages and races saying why they support her. One mentions Clinton’s support for a new G.I. bill and for covering National Guard and Reserves under TRICARE military health plans.

Another says, “Like any good soldier, I train for war but I pray for peace. I think Hillary Clinton will bring us peace.”

Romney’s video is simpler, offering a salute to U.S. troops with images of servicemen and women set to music while words such as “honor,” “courage,” and “commitment” flash on screen. Romney’s video also asks viewers to visit his Surge of Support web page.
